Customs Revenue Shows Big Increase
AUCKLAND. Sat. (Sp.)—Total revenue for the Customs Department at Auckland during the month was £1.197.606 compared with £917.340 for November last year. At £12.555.167. the total for 11 months of the calendar year is £1.783.786 mce than the amount collected during the corresponding period in 1946. The comparative returns, with those for November last year in parentheses, are—
Motor spirit, £87,833 (£79,568): tyres, £4984 <,£3211); excise tax on beer. £73,388 (£73,553); sales tax, £307.930 (£346,189).
