Search Abandoned
SAN JUAN (Puerto Rico), Fri. (11 a.m.). —The Coastguard announced today that it is abandoning the search for the Dutch motor ship Koert, reported on fire and sinking near Port au Prince, Haiti, yesterday. The Coastguard said that unless the radio message was a hoax, the ship must have made harbour somewhere without reporting her safe arrival. United States Army and Navy planes and ships of the American and Haitian •Coastguard searched for 10 hours after the interception of the SOS, without finding trace of the ship.
