Fire In Birdcage At Trentham
WELLINGTON. Sat. (P.A.) Fire broke out in the northern portion of the birdcage at Trentham just before the start of the second race today.
The h.eat and smoke drove patrons off the lower section of the members’ stand.
The outbreak was suppressed by the Trentham Camp fire brigade. The running of the Trial Stakes was delayed for 20 minutes. The fire started in some straw.
