Gaoled For Income Tax Evasion
(Rec. 1 p.m.) NEW YORK. Oct. 17. Federal Judge Calvin Chestnut, at Baltimore today, sentenced Eugene B. Casey, one of the late President Roosevelt's wartime aides, to six months’ imprisonment on each of three counts and lined him 30,000 dollars for evasion of income tax payments.
The judge reduced the imprisonment on two counts to six months conditional upon Casey paying all penalties due, plus court costs and other charges, and cooperating with the Government in uncovering any further tax liabilD ties.
