May Use Troops To Dismantle Industry
(Rec. 1.0 p.m.) BERLIN, Oct. 17. German protests which have greeted the announcement of a revised Anglo-American programme for the dismantling of factories have been met with a statement that the plans will be carried out in spite of any German opposition. The British Control Commission and the United States Military .Government announced that 682 German factories (496 in the British zone) have been listed for reparations under the new bizonal level of industry plan. Of these 380 are industrial and the rest purely war plants. The British zone list includes the Krupp works at Essen, Rheinmetall Borsig at Dusseldorf, August Thyssen Huette at Duisburg and I. G. Farben Industrie at Leverkusen.
