Second-Lieutenant Ken Langdon. of •Whangarei, now in Japan with the J Force, secured second place in a 110metres high hurdles race at the Nile Kinnick Stadium, Tokio, on October 9. He completed the race in 15.2scc„ just one-fifth of a second behind the winner, an American.
The New Zealand 120yds hurdling champion. Eustace, holds the Dominion record at 15 2-ssec., so that Lieut. Langdon, who did the 110 metres, or ■l2oyds 10. Tin., in lf>.2sec.. seems a likely challenger to Eustace when he returns.
ACQUITTED. The British War Crimes Court at Hamburg acquitted Hans Stumpff, a former Luftwaffe colonel-general, of having passed on the German High Command order forbidding German escorts of captured Allied airmen to protect them from civilian attacks.
