TITLE-HOLDER IN FORM
The title-holder, Miss J. Fonvell (Christchurch), showed much improved form, having eliminated some ot the faults apparent in her play on the first day. The tremendous driving of Dr Tonkin against Mrs Hollis was n feature of the day. The Napier woman often had an advantage of 40 yards from the tee but her work around the greens was not good enough against the steadiness of the Titirangi champion.
Miss Z. Hudson, of Christchurch, actually produced the best form of the tournament when she beat Miss K. O’Sullivan (Hawera) 5 and 3. Detailed results are:—
