Mrs Lilly Laybourn
OBITUARY
The death has occurred of Mrs Lilly Keziah Laybourn. at the home of her younger daughter, Mrs C. M. White, of Hikurangi. She was in her 80th year
Mrs Laybourn's parents, the late Mr and Mrs Farmer, emigrated from Canada, and lived in Auckland, where Mrs Laybourn was born. The family moved to Te Aroha, where in 1886 she married Robert Laybourn, who had a grain and produce business. In 1915 Mr and Mrs Laybourn moved to Kiripaka. Fifty years after the move Mr Laybourn died and in 1936 Mrs Laybourn took up residence with her daughter, Mrs C. M. White. Hikurangi. Six of the seven children survive. They are Messrs J. E. and R. W. E. Laybourn (Wellington). Messrs T. E. and A. D. E. Laybourn (Hikurangi), Mrs L. E. ■Raynell (Whangarei), and Mrs C. M. E. White (Hikurangi). There are 15 grandchildren and two great-grand-children.
Throughout her life Mrs Laybourn took a keen interest in youth work in connection with church and Sunday School—first in Te Aroha, then at the Grange Road Baptist Church, Auckland. and finally at Kiripaka.
