Parliament Approves I. C. And A. Bill
(Special) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Bill was passed in the House of Representatives yesterday afternoon. Three Opposition amendments, dealing with, the secret ballot clause were defeated. There was a brief discussion on an amendment by Mr K. J. Holyoake (O—Pahiatua) seeking to bind the Crown, but the amendment was ruled out of order and the bill was then passed without more discussion. “There' is not much to clap about after your capitulation,” declared Mr A. S. Sutherland (O—Hauraki), when the Minister of Labour was applauded, mostly by Government members. “It is the Minister’s first bill,” replied a voice from the Government benches.
