20 SHIPS BEAT TUGBOAT STRIKE
(Rec. 10.0 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. More than 20 overseas and interstate vessels beat the strike of tugboat crews during the weekend, when their masters, assisted by harbour pilots, took ships to and from berths without the aid of tugs. The fleet of ships which was anchored in the bay last week has now been reduced to four vessels. Had the week-end weather been stormy, any movement without tugs would have been dangerous.
