Strikers Load British Food
(1.30 p.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day Striking tugboat, men will today tow the freighter Saxton Star into Port Melbourne to load food for Britain.
Volunteer strikers yesterday offered to unload without pay any ship waiting to take food to Britain.
The men refused pay to avoid charges of being scabs or strikebreakers.
The Saxton Star has been lying at anchor since the tugboat men went on strike for improved wages and conditions eight days ago.
