More Breaches Of Cease Fire
(Rec. 10 a.m.) BATAVIA, Aug. 27. Another 15 infringements of the cease fire were claimed tonight in the Republican situation report broadcast from Jogjakarta. They included; a reported attack yesterday on Tjibueti and Pusphayang in the Tasikmalaya district on the Prianger Residency, West Java, by a Dutch plane, which dropped grenades and strafed with machine-guns.
Two women were reported to have been killed and three people wounded. A Dutch submarine flotilla, it was claimed, was observed steaming off Tjitra, on the West Java coast, toward Labuan. ' ANOTHER ORDER
The Security Council yesterday for the second time called on the Dutch and Indonesians to cease fire. The decision came after the Dutch Ambassador (Dr van Kleffens) had warned the council that the ceasefire order could not be observed if the Indonesian Government continued “to incite Indonesians to murder the Dutch and burn dwellings.”
The president of the council (Faris el Khouri, Syria) ruled 'that yesterday’s action completed this stage of the Indonesian case, but the matter was left on the agenda for further action if and when it appears necessary.
