Yowfrhs Break Into Aid Society Office
(Special.) AUCKLAND, This Day. Two Maori youths, said to have come originally from the North, were charged in the Police Court today with breaking, entering and theft. They were Bob Nathan, 19, and Edward Patrick Nathan, 18.
They were jointly charged with breaking and entering the premises of the Discharged Prisoners’ Aid Society, stealing a cheque book and two bank pass books, and also keys, a watch and a cigarette lighter, of a total value of £3/2/6.
They were charged in addition with the theft of £l2, the property of the Rev. H. K. Vickery, and others. Bob Nathan was also charged with obtaining cigarettes and £5/14/- from a shopkeeper by means of a valueless cheque. Evidence was given that the office of the Discharged Prisoners’ Aid Society had been broken into and thoroughly ransacked.
Both accused pleaded guilty and were committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
