N.Z. Businessmen Leaving For Japan
(Special) WELLINGTON, This Day. Three New Zealand businessmen are expected to leave the Dominion by air this’ week for Japan to explore the possibilities of resuming trade with Japan. A further two will follow shortly.
The visits of representatives of trade organisations and private firms are being sponsored by the Government through the Department of Industries and Commerce and New Zealand has been allowed to send six representatives a month. The five businessmen who will constitute the first party to visit Japan are Messrs R. G. Kain, E. A. A. Thorne, C. T. Strother, C. G. Moore and D. Fernie, all of whom are of the North Island.
Their interests include timber, hardware, furnishing materials, silk and artificial piece goods and other textiles.
