Otaika
The Puwera branch of the WDFF held its August meeting in the Otaika hall last Thursday. The president (Mrs Meredith Gunson)' presided. Misses Peggy Tonner and Joan McLean were welcomed as guests. An interesting report on the Wellington conference was given by the delegates Mesdames Gunson and Magee. Competitions resulted: Ginger nuts, Mrs ElPot 1- best bloom from a member’s own garden. Mrs Elliot 1. Mrs Smith 2, Mrs Tonner 3. , .: Mesdames Elliot and Martin were appointed delegates to the provincial meeting in Whangarei. Luncheon and afternoon tea were served by the members. During the week-end. several of the Mt Eden hockey players visiting Whangarei were billeted by ladies of the WDFF. , , , . . , Mr Jack Magee left last week to take up a position in Wellington. Mr and Mrs Potter and family have taken up residence with Mrs Potter’s mother, Mrs Tavinor.
