Grey Amd Merszies Plan North Plants
(Special) AUCKLAND,, This Day. When building permits are available Grey and Menzies, Ltd., cordial manufacturers, intend tc build factories at Whangarei and Kaitaia. At the annual meeting of the company yesterday the chairman (Mr T. E. N. Wade) said orders had been placed for modern plant to maintain output more economically and to allow for expansion. Some-of the plant should be installed this year. Prospects for the year were quite good from the sales point of view, said Mr Wade, but a world shortage of soda ash used for making glassware would probably rationing of bottles. Supplies of manufacturing goods came forward more freely last year, but at increased cost. The economic situation overseas might reflect adversely on_ the maintenance of supplies in the future.
