Sewed Himself Up, Rode To Hospital

(Rec. 1.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, This Day.

A station hand who wounded himself in the stomach while skinning a sheep stitched up the wound with a needle and thread and rode 30 miles to hospital. The man, Harry Lloyd, 51, was working at Derangable Station, when the knife slipped and he received a sellout stomach wound. There was nobody at the homestead at the time of the accident, so Lloyd sewed up the wound, managed to get on his horse and ride 30 miles to Forbes Hospital. His condition is satisfactory.
