Vice-Regal Silver Wedding Day
(Special.) AUCKLAND. This Day. A silver cruet set presented by the Mayor (Mr J. A. C. Allum) and the City Council, on behalf of the citizens of Auckland, was received by Their Excellencies the Governor General (Sir Bernard Freyberg, V.C.) and Lady Freyberg, at Waitomo Caves on Saturday, on the occasion of their 25th wedding anniversary. A large bouquet was also sent to Her Excellency. Other gifts of silverware were also received by Their Excellencies. Greetings from the Prime Minister (Mr Fraser), several members of the Government, mayors of cities, hundreds of organisations and private people were sent to Sir Bernard and Lady Freyberg. Many flowers and bouquets were received.
