Highland Fling's Win Unpopular
(Special.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Highland Fling's success in the Farewell Handicap at the Wellington Trotting Club's winter meeting at Hutt Park on Saturday, was unpopular with some of the crowd.
A large section demonstrated against the win. An inquiry was held, but after evidence had been taken it was announced that the improving track had assisted Highland Fling in giving an improved display. The stipendiary stewards stated thiit they viewed the indifferent performances of the horse as unsatisfactory. The announcement of the finding of the inquiry was made in semi-darkness and met with another hostile demonstration.
