Insurrections in Tibet, Mongolia

(Rec. 2.0 p.m.) SHANGHAI, June 13.

China is facing an insurrection in Tibet, while rebel forces from Outer Mongolia have invaded Sinkiang Province.

Government forces have recaptured Peitashan in the Sinkiang Province. 50 miles from the Outer Mongolian border, but the fighting is continuing, says the Central News Agency. Other despatches reported that the Outer Mongolian invaders had been repulsed 50 miles inside the Mongolian border, but aircraft with Soviet markings had continued to bomb .Chinese positions at Peitashan. China's Legislative Yuan today demanded a firmer policy toward Russia as a result of the Mongolian invasion. The Associated Press correspondent says that Russian sources in Nanking confirmed the report that the Soviet had trained and equipped a modem army in Outer Mongolia, including a small but efficient air force. BROTHERS DISAGREE The American-owned Shanghai newspaper Post-Mercury gave a new slant to the Mongolia invasion today when it said that recent arrivals from northwest China reported that two brothers of the Sherifkhan family, who are among the leading clans in Chinese Kazakstan, had quarrelled and now headed the rival factions.

Previously both were leaders in the rebellion movement against China, until the elder brother went to Russia for training under the Soviet. The other brother then sided with the Chinese, after which a number of clashes occurred.
