Kaitaia Bowlers’ Record Numbers
(Special) KAITAIA. This Day. In the past season the Kaitaia Bonding Club had reached ttic record membership of 112. the retiring president (Mr R. D. Hanlon) reported to the annual meeting on Wednesday night. Over 50 members attended. This figure had been 14 in excess of that for the previous year, Mr Hanlon stated. At the close of play this year the club’s greens had been in wonderful condition, and prospects for next year’s bowling were bright. Mr Hanlon expressed to the greenkeeper (Mr T. Joll) the club’s appreciation of his services. Congratulations were extended lo the club on having won the Northland centre full-rinks championship, and tlie following individual successes by Kaitaia players were also recorded:—H. N. Freeman and G. G. Surinam Northland and Kaitaia pairs championships; R. Diirney and V. Brien, junior pairs; W. Bestic, firstyear championship; G. Molloy, handicap singles. Concluding, Mr Hanlon thanked officers and members, together with the members of the ladies’ croquet club for their assistance and cooperation during his term of office. The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr J. W. Hoskin; president, Mr R. H. Michie; vice-presidents. Messrs F. Weber and G. G. Surman; secretary and treasurer, Mr A. E. Foster; auditor,.Mr W. H. Atkins; solicitor, Mr J. B. Reynolds; green superintendent, Mr R. R. Lewis; h/adicappers, Messrs M. Hammond and H. N. Freeman; Northland centre delegates, Messrs T. Agnew and E. Dennis: management committee. Messrs H. N. Freeman, M. Hammond, W. E. Dyer, G. F. Molloy. J. Cowie, R. Durney, J. B. Dykes, H. Sanders, D. Hart and J. E. Wilkinson.
