WFTU WANTS TO BOYCOTT SPAIN

(Rec. 12.30 p.m.) PRAGUE. June 13. The general council of the World Federation of Trade Unions unanimously voted to raise funds to aid the resistance movement in Spain, to demand immediate action by the United Nations against the Franco regime, to try to obtain further action in the matter from individual Governments, and to ask the executive committee to decide whether these steps should be carried further by specific WFTU sanctions, such as refusing to load or unload ships for Spain. The Mexican delegate (Senor Lombardo Toledano) urged that national unions should organise a boycott without awaiting for United Nations’ action.
