Incentive Lacking
(Special) AUCKLAND, This Day. The opinion that incentive was needed to keep young New Zealand engineers in this country was expressed by the Mayor of Hamilton (Mr H. D. Caro), speaking at a function arranged by the South Auckland branch of the Professional Engineers’ Association in honour of the engineers who were 2'esponsible for the Karapiro scheme.
The state did not recognise the ability of engineers in this country, said Mr Caro.
He thought that an engineering achievement such as had been completed at Karapiro was worthy of much more public notice and mention than it had received. Many people looked on this great feat of workmanship as they might look on the laying down of a tram line.
