Wool Goods To Be Reieosed
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Woollen manufacturing firms withholding goods made of this season's wool pending decision on their application for price increases have now given orders for the release of these goods to shops. Prices have not been increased and it is expected that supplies that have been held since May 1 will be available to the public next week. Applications to the Price Tribunal for increases, according to reports, showed an increase in costs of as much as 60 per cent.
The question raised was whether an increased price or a subsidy would be granted to adjust the position. No announcement has yet been made regarding a subsidy.
