Adelaide Slips Back A Generation
(Rec. 1.30 p.m.) ADELAIDE. This Day Failure of coal supplies has halted industry and transport in South Australia.
Because bad weather has delayed two ships which are carrying urgentlyneeded coal, the South Australian Government has banned the use of electrical power in all industries. No trains will run in the stale until Tuesday morning and Adelaide will be without trams from 6.30 p.m. today until Tuesday.
Household electricity is already severely rationed, and gas will be available only at meal hours.
