First Agreement At Geneva
(Rec. 10 a.m.) GENEVA, June 3 The first definite result of the tarill talks at the International Trade Organisation Conference is agreement between the Czechoslovak and South African delegations.
Tariff negotiations between Canada and Norway are almost completed. They await only the Norwegian Government's approval. France is making but little progress.
A modified version of her proposals is being studied, but it is thought unlikely that even this will satisfy the British and United States delegations. There are great difficulties in the way of general agreement, but the delegations are hoping that, even if the conference fails, any agreements reached will remain effective.
