Vodka, Caviare For Soviet Visitors

Members of (he House of Lords and House of Commons produced vo.dka and caviare at a reception in the Royal Gallery of the House of Lords for 20 delegates from the Supreme Soviet. Tiie Lord Chancellor and Lady Jowitt. the Speaker of the House of Commons and Mrs Clifton Brown, were hosts in the historic setting with paintings of Trafalgar, Waterloo, and statues of dead British kings looking down on the meeting of Parliamentarians from Britain and Communist Russia. M. Kuznetzov, chairman of the Russian Council of Nationalities, said the Russians had the warmest feelings for the people of Britain and hoped the visit would strengthen the bond between the countries.
Lord Jowitt welcomed the delegates “particularly in memory ol' war's comradeship."
