Kaitaia Wins Pairs Champ.
(Special) KAITAIA, This Day. G. G, Surman and H. W. Freeman (Kaitaia) beat E. Dennis and T. Brewis (Whangarei) 27—14 in the final of the North Auckland Bowling Centre Champion of Champion Pairs completed at Kaitaia yesterday afternoon.
Freeman won easily after a fortunate win 18—16 from Brewis. who had two lives, in the semi-final. In this match Brewis had command when he gave away two vital heads and the score in the 21st was 16—all. An extra head was played. Freeman and his lead each picking up a point. Dennis was also handy but a measure ga%'e Kaitaia the match. The final was won on the 19th head and after leading 12—10 on the eighth Freeman had charge throughout. SINGLES SECTION For the singles section today there were seven entries. They were: Searlc (Dargaville), Johnson (Whangarei), Dunn (Ruavvai), Kosovich (Kaikohe), Rowson (Waipu), and Gibson (Hikurangi). In the first round Searle beat Johnson 26—10 and Kosovich beat Dunn 23—13.
