Want Higher Limit Ora Home Loans
(P.AP WELLINGTON, This Day. It was almost impossible to erect a house within the £ISOO limit set on rehabilitation loans granted for this purpose, stated the New Zealand Returned Services Association yesterday. The Dominion executive has resolved that the Government be asked to give urgent consideration to raising the £ISOO loan limit for the purpose of building or purchasing houses to .'.'2000.
In submitting this resolution in usgeut letters to the Prime Minister, the Minister of Finance and the Minister of Rehabilitation, the RSA pointed out that the question of inflation could be guarded against in the case of building by restricting the cost per foot for the erection of new dwellings, just ns the purchasing of a home already erected ’■/as: protected by the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act.
