Human Scavengers Sent To Prison
(Special) AUCKLAND, This Day. Describing them as "human scavengers" Mr J. H. Luxford, S.M., sentenced two married men lo three months’ imprisonment each yesterday. They were Frederick 'Theodore Dauncy Poulton, 48, labourer, and Thomas William Girvin, 34, salesman.
Each admitted that he had posted an indecent letter to a woman.
“You and your class are a scourge on the community,” commented the magistrate, imposing the maximum penalty. He said it was to be hoped that when women received such a letter they should face up and report the matter to the police instead of casting such a letter to the flames.
