WEDDING

An attractive wedding took place at Christ Church, Whangarei, on Saturday evening, when Vivia Dorothy, only daughler or Mr and Mrs F, C. Walton, Bank of Australasia, Whangarei. was married by Archdeacon Prebbie, to Keith Stewart, only son of Mr and Mrs F. S. Taylor, The Terrace, Wellington. The bride, who was given away by her father, chose a lovely gown of white tulle tinned with a tight-fitting bodice ol' silver and white brocade. The full bouffant skirt fell into a long train which was edged with tulic frilling and her lace-edged scalloped veil was caught to her head with white water lilies which also featured in her bouquet. The bridesmaids, who .were the Misses Maire Buckley, Lois O'Donoghue and Coralie Taylor t Wellington), wore charming gowns of powder blue marquisette classica lv simple in line. Topknots of deep blue delphiniums were worn in their hair and the.V carried bouquets of ihe same flowers.

The bridegroom was attended bv Messrs Desmond Stewart, John Barry and George Jordan, ail of Auckland. The ushers were Messrs George MeKendriek. Geoffrey Casselis-Brown and L. R. Lee-Richards, all of Auckland.

A reception was held at tlie Commercial Hctel where Mrs Walton received tno guests wearing a parma violet gown and a smart model hat of the same shade. She carried a bouquet of toning flowers. The Waterview Methodist Church, Avondale, was recently the scene ol a wedding of much interest when Miss Kay Service, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Alex Service, of Avondale, was married, to Mr Raymond Horner, youngest son of Mr and Mrs Hugh Horner, of Whangarei. The Rev. D. Ifavlock officiated. The bride’s grandmother, Mrs Tatton, was organist and Mrs S. Bradlev was soloist. Attending as matrons-of-honour were Mrs Norman Service and Mrs Allan Logan. Miss Rav McLachlnn was bridesmaid. They were full-length frocks of gold suede crepe. Lillie Annette Service, sister of the bride, wore a crepe picture frock. The best man was Mr Harold Day and the groomsmen were Messrs Ken Golding and Gordon Campbell. The reception was held at Stoneleigh.
