Opuawhanga
At the January meeting of the Opuawhanga Women's Institute Miss May Attwood presided in the absence of the president. There was a good attendance. The roll call was "Hints for Christmas dinners.” Mrs Nankivell gained first place in the jam roll competition, with Miss Margaret Weaver second. Mrs J. Maddox, Miss Dawn Maddox and Miss Merle Whimp were welcomed as new members. Visitors for the afternoon were Mrs Ward and Miss Avis Duggan. The social hour was spent in a competition which was won by Miss Duggan. Miss May Attwood and Miss Margaret Weaver were hostesses for lunch.
