Auckland Bowling Centre Visitors
Eight members of the Auckland Bowling Centre were guests of the Northland centre in Whangarei today.
It was the first official visit of this nature for six years and the occasion was appreciated by the hosts and enjoyed by the Aucklanders. This morning they were entertained by the Kensington club. The president (Mr G. Richards) welcomed them to the greens and the president of the Auckland Centre (Mr W. M. Matheson) responded. The visitors took part in two matches, one against a Northland centre four, and the other with a Kensington rink.
The Auckland party comprised Mr Matheson, Mr G. F. Frieberg, vicepresident of the metropolitan centre, Messrs A. S. Dignan and I. (“Ira”) Sutherland, two past presidents, and Messrs G. W. Clerk, R. C. Caddy, J. 11. Braitbwaite and L. J. Keys, members. This afternoon, the Aucklanders were at the Whangarei club, where they were the guests of the Northland centre.
