Rain Needed
Despite the heavy clouds that hung over Whangarei yesterday no showers had materialised this morning, making today the 12th consecutive one on which no rain has been recorded. The last fall occurred on February 23 when ,01in. fell but Whangarei has not benefitted from a substantial showed since February 15. Between February 12 and 1G one and three quarters of an inch of rain occurred but since then only ,19in. has been reported. Volcanic and porous country around Whangarei has already suffered through the light rainfall but not as badly as some of the districts further north where even less rain has fallen.
