Support Northland Waipoua Motion
(Special) ROTORUA, This Day. The Municipal Conference yesterday adopted a resolution passed by representatives of Northland local bodies and other organisations at the Waipoua kauri forest last month, urging the setting aside of 7000 to 8000 acres of this forest as a permanent reserve. Mr J. A. C. Allum (Auckland), said it was not proposed that any of the timber should be used for housing, but for special purposes such as shipbuilding. “The best use we can make of it is to save it for posterity,” he said.
