Strong Fields For Waikato Meeting

A strong field of 21 is listed for the Vercoe Memorial Handicap, one mile, the principal event at the Waikato Racing Club's autumn meeting, to be held at Te Rapa tomorrow. Entries in the other events are good, and an interesting day’s racing is assured. Horses expected to race prominently are: 11.0—Huntly Hack Handicap, six furlongs: Ist Div.: Miss Hiria, Hunting Rua; 2nd Div.: Jollac, Lord Pilot. 11.50— Raglan Hurdles, lif miles: Sublime Fox, Greek Boy, Sir Jovial. 12.35—Chinewai Handicap, 7 furlongs: Hardware, Silver Lap. Fahlwan. I.2s—Vercoe Memorial Handicap, one mile: Miss Julienne, Iwo Jima, Foxwyn. 2.10 —Eureka Handicap, six furlongs: Golden Beau, Fifth Note, Robin Leigh. 3.0 —Waikato Hack Cup, 1 mile 3 furlongs: Goody Two Shoes, Silver Treasure, Jeep. 3.45 —Railway Handicap, seven furlongs: Taveriisidc brkt., Hunting Camp, Landveyor. 4.4 o—Te Rore Handicap, one mile: Swanee. Norman Knight, Tatanga. WELLINGTON: Keen interest will be taken in the running of the Thompson Handicap, one mile, at Trentham tomorrow. This will be a solid betting race, in which the ultimate favourites may be: Rea Pickle. Imperial and Majesty.. The Railway Handicap, six furlongs, should find Da Vinci well supported, as also will be Lord Theio and Flying Orders. Bruce. Broiefield and Sakumala will probably be the elect of the Autumn Handicap field. TARANAKI: Blanket and Flying Gold may be best supported for the Taranaki Cup, one mile 21 furlongs, with Bramble Song the best of the remainder. The Flying Handicap may be fought out by Tideless. Craven and Theocritus. AUCKLAND TROTS: For the Forgusson Handicap. two miles, the principal event at Epsom tomorrow. there will be solid support for Doctor Ted brkt., Sprayman and Heliopolis.
