Jersey Club Secretary Resigns
The resignation of Mr C. P. Butler, who has been secretary of the club for six years was received at a meeting of the Whangarei Jersey Club. The president (Mr J. A. Stevens) stated that members would be genuinely sorry to learn that Mr Butler’s services would be terminated, and it was with regret that his resignation was received. Other speakers made reference to the faithful and energetic manner in which Mr Butler had carried out his duties. He had earned the respect of Jersey breeders throughout Northland \and the loss of his services would be felt. On the motion of the president, Mr F. J. Philpott was appointed as Mr Butler’s successor. JUDGES APPOINTED Three more associate judges and an additional • official judge were unpointed. Messrs N. Sterling (Matakohe), H. Rusk (Towai) and G. Worthington (Maungaturoto) were added to the associate judges’ list, while Mr H. M. Thompson (Kaitaia) was appointed as an official adjudicator. A grant of £lO was made lowards assistance for the Kaikohe Young Farmers’ Club, which proposes to organise a field day and Jersey demonstration in the near future.
