WATERFRONT COMMISSION
<P.A.) WELLINGTON. This Day. The Waterfront Industry Commission meets tomorrow for the first time since December 4. when disagreement over the guaranteed wage question caused an adjournment sine riie. On January 6. a Government order suspended the powers of the com mission. but fbis week those powers were restored when the watersiders returned to working overtime and on Saturday mornings.
Wharf Congested, No Overtime
(P.A.) AUCKLAND. This Day. With wharf space congested, no overtime has been worked on the Union Company's chartered vessel Ambassador for two nights because the extra cargo unloaded could not have been accommodated.
Reports that the Watersiders' Union had complained because overtime had not keen offered on the Ambassador were denied today. Harbour officials and representatives of the Waterside Industry Commission are conferring today in an endeavour to overcome the difficulty of unloading Australian steel and hardwood poles from the vessel.
The movement of this cargo is restricted by a shortage of motor trucks, and the quantity which can be stored in the wharf sheds is restricted by weight limits.
