Regards Western Frontier Fixed

(Rec. 11.30 a.m.) LONDON. Jan. 22. Poland regards her western frontier as fixed by the Potsdam Agreement, and it only remains for the German peace treaty to sanction it formally, said a Polish Embassy spokesman at a Press conference in London today. He revealed that 1,700,000 Germans had already been evacuated westward from areas ceded to Poland. Only 300,000 remain and they will be evacuated soon. Meanwhile, nearly 4.000.000 Poles have been moved in from the Curzon Line. Poland, when she places her views before the Foreign Ministers’ deputies on January 27, will formally apply for the German peace treaty to be signed in Warsaw where they believe the signing would have “strong political and moral significance.” The spokesman made it clear that Poland still favours a strong centrdl government for Germany which would not "permit division of the country into states.”
