Whangarei Pupils' Music Passes
Fourteen candidates were successful in obtaining passes in the written examinations of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, London, j which were conducted at Whangarei in November. The following is the list of successful candidates: Stage 3: Berna M. Armstrong, Bruce Henrickson, Allen M. Simons. Stage 2: Rae S. Clarke, Lorna Marshall, Valdimir lVlortensen, Valerie Sands, Graeme Smith, Peter F. Waterhouse and Colleen E. Vallance. Stage 1: Rae Goodhue, Jean W. Lees, Eileen Timperley. Gwenda A. Whitehouse. With the exception of Colleen Vallance, who was a pupil of St Joseph's Convent, the candidates in Stage 3 and 2 were all pupils of Miss C. H. Stratford. The first three pupils listed in Stage 1 passes were pupils of Miss E. D. Rust, Gwenda Whitehouse being taught by Mrs A. M. A’Court.
