Fire In Open-Cast Mine Subdued
(Special) GREYMOUTH, This Day. Fire broke out in the coal face of the open-ckst mine of F. Chandler and party during the week-end. The blaze had a good hold when discovered, but with the use of a motor-driven pump the flames were subdued yesterday. The face is 1750 ft. above sea-level and some distance from any body of water.
