Allegations Of BBC Bribery
(Spec., 11 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 7. Much public interest is being concentrated on an inquiry now being conducted by Sir Valentine Holmes, K.C.
It follows recent allegations made in the House of Commons of cases of bribery of BBC officials that broadcasts might be secured. Some 80 witnesses so far have offered their names and dance band leaders and variety artists will be invited' to take part in round-table conferences with Sir Valentine.
It is likely that his report will be in the hands of the BBC board of governors within the next four weeks. The first to be interviewed was Mi’s “Tawny” Neilson, 38-year-old head of the BBC dance music organisation.
