Jordan Warns Visitors To U.K.
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day A warning has beeit issued by Mr W. J. Jordan, High Commissioner in the United Kinfidom. to intenidng travellers from New Zealand to the United Kingdom. Mr Jordan, in a message to the Government released today refers to a report that shipping companies are at present being rushed bv intending passengers from New Zealand to Britain, and states that it must be understood by any holiday makers or other people whose v : /it to Britain is not essential that they will have to wait a year or longer tor a return passage.
“This waiting time in Great Britain is not likely to be shortened," said Mr Jordan, “notwithstanding all excuses that may be produced, or whatever influence may be brought to bear. “Already there is a waiting list of some thousands of people in Great Britain, and New Zealand House in London cannot secure any priority in transport tor ordiary passengers.”
