Ukraine Attacks Greek Government

PARIS August 24. M. Manuiisky, Foreign Minister of Ukraine, and head of its delegation at the Paris Conference, announced that he was filing a complaint with the Security Council against the Greek Government, which was endangering peace in the Balkans. The presence of British troops and the direct intervention of British representatives in Greece's internal affairs on behalf of Monarchist elements were the principal factors in upsetting the Balkans situation, he said. It would be contrary to the aims of the United Nations Charter if the referendum on the return of King George were held on September 1 in the presence of foreign troops who supported elements that had collaborated with the Italian and German invaders.

M. Manuiisky said his Government was concerned at the numerous incidents on the Greco-Albanian frontier which were provoked by Greek armed units with the connivance and encouragement of the Greek authorities. Greek detachments were systematically firing on Albanian frontier guards and on peasants working near the frontier.

The Prime Minister of Greece, M. Tsaldaris. later said that M. Manuilsky's allegations that British troops were hampering the taking of a fair referendum were totally unfounded.
