(Rec. 1Q.30 a.m.) LONDON, January 3. Britain is reported to have plenty of tea. It is stated that there is a big surplus, while • many people are not taking the full ration of two and a-half ounces a week.

The catering trade is therefore asking the Ministry of Food for a 10 per cent, increase in its allocation. A tea-broker has stated: ‘‘London is packed with tea. The controllers do not know where to store some of it. There, is every reason for, taking tea off ration immediately.
