Maori Girl Saves Two Men. From Fire
(Special) HAMILTON, This Day. A young Maori waitress, Miss Mona Chapman, saved the lives of two men when the Grand Hotel, Frankton, whs burned.
While the top storey was burning she van up the stairs and woke the two men who were sleeping. They had been working the previous night. By the time the sleepers had been roused exit, by the stairs was impossible and the three had to leap from a window on to the roof of a small shed.
