New Miracle Hand For Wounded Soldiers
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Dr. J. Kennedy Elliott, who recently returned from studying artificial limb practice in England, told the Disabled Servicemen Re-estab-lishment League that supplies of a new miracle hand with soft, malleable .cores, and moveable lingers, should reach New Zealand from America in about three months. This was the best Land yet produced. Light metal limbs were being made in New Zealand and with a plant on order, excellent limbs should be manufactured. The Wellington factory, in regard to lay-out and space, compared favourably with any he had seen. Provisions were made at Roehampton for postal service for limbs requiring adjustments or attention, each man was supplied with p duplicate. If that was done in New Zealand it would save a lot of attendances at fitting centres.
