More Prisoners Safe
fP.A.) WELLINGTON. This Day. The following Northland members of the N.Z.E.F. are now safe in England: P Busby (Herckino), M. Dunn (Hokianga), A. W. Ferguson (Moerewa), K. M. Pivac (Awanui North), C. G. A. Wilson (Whangarei). Among New Zealand prisoners of war who have arrived in London from Germany is Private Richard .L. Luxford. youngettson-of Mr. J. H. Luxford. Auckland’s senior stipendiary magistrate, and Mrs. Luxford. Private Luxford, who is aged 28. was captured in Egypt in 1.042. shortly before the El Alamein battle. Previously he was mentioned in despatches for the part he played during the campaign in Greece. Born in- Te Awa - mutu, he was educated at the Whangarei High School, and before enlisting at Wei lington was employed on a sheep sration.
