Mew Peak In Use Of N.A.P.B Electricity
A new level was attained by the, North Auckland Electric-power Board wneti rite combined maximum demand at the two sub-stations for the month reached 4552 k.v.a., this peak occurring- at o p.m. on .March 22. This was staled by ihe engineer (Air. T. ft. Overton) in ins monthly report to ihe board yesterday. This pean represents an increase, of 17 per cent, over ihc same period of last. year. During the month, 57 applications for new installations were submitted to the Building Controller, and of these 43 were approved, including those for settlers in the Wharekoho Group. A canvasser will visit each prospective consumer at an early' date to ascertain exact requirements.
Three-phase check meters have been .connected on both underground and, surface supplies at the Ward Collieries. The* Whangarei construction gang erected six chains of three-wire low tension line at Poroti, and five chains of twowire low tension at Kauri, and re-strain-ed service lines at Kauri to give, regulation' clearance over telephone lines in that ideality, also at Tikipunga, Tauraron and Maungakaramea. Seven applications for low tension extensions, and four for high tension, were prepared and forwarded to the Electricity Controller- for consideration.
Seven' new consumers were connected during the month, bringing- the total number, to 5112.
