Fierce Channel Action
(Rec. 2.80 p.m.) LONDON, March 10. In the Straits of Dover last night, light costal forces of the Royal Navy encountered and immediately engaged an enemy force greatly superior in strength, consisting of six heavily armed trawlers and six U-boats. The Admrinlly announce that during trio fierce gnn action which followed one of our M.T.B.’s came under the concentrated fire of the enemy force and must be considered lost. Meanwhile another british ship continued to press home the .attack anti at almost point-blank range, obtained repeated hits on an U-boat which Mow up .and stink, one trawler was also severely damaged by gunfire and will'll last seen was enveloped in smoke. The remainder of the British ships returned safely to harbour.
